Mini-Worship

Jan.16-21, 2024

Take a few deep breaths and center yourself and quiet down

Entering the presence of God

Your love, LORD, reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the skies.

How priceless is your unfailing love, O God! People take refuge in the shadow of your wings. 8 They feast on the abundance of your house; you give them drink from your river of delights. 9 For with you is the fountain of life; in your light we see light.

Continue your love to those who know you, your righteousness to the upright in heart. (Psalm 36:5-10)

Adoration Prayer

Our heavenly father, we praise that your love and your faithfulness came upon to save us from darkness and death and guide us to the path of peace. You allow us to take refuge under your wings and to drink from the fountain of your life. You lead us in the light so we are able to see light. Thanks. We adore you. Please continue your love to us. In the name of Jesus Christ.

Confession:

God of our salvation and strength, We confess that in your righteousness, we see that we are short of your glory. We confess that our hearts are not always that righteous. We still have that rebellion and distrust in our hearts. We struggle in many ways. We feel reluctant to obey to your word and to walk in the manner that matches to your calling. Instead, we are easily attracted by the winds and currents of the world. We think that we are smart but find that we end in our own foolishness. We know that we are wrong. O, God, we are truly and terribly sorry. Please forgive us. We also confess that we are small and weak in fixing problem on our own effort. We deeply need more you into our hearts and into our lives. Christ, we come to you. Please shed your blood upon our hearts. Cleanse our hearts and recreate our spirits. Come to dwell in us. Refill us with the new power of life in your resurrection. In the name of Jesus Christ.

Scripture reading:

Genesis 1:26 -28

Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth." 27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. 28 Then God blessed them, and God said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.

Ephesians 5:13 -20

15 See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, 16 redeeming the time, because the days are evil. 17 Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is. 18 And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit, 19 speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord, 20 giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,

2 Corinthians 7:1

Therefore, since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God.

Thoughts to share:

Four points are here to remind you as you go for school semester. Firstly, God created you for a purpose. You are in this world not by accident. You are given your talents and learning opportunities not by accident. You are important and unique. You have a special place and mission for him in this creation. Secondly, wisely make use of your time. You do not want to spend time doing foolish things that take away your time, attention, energy for your main purpose in school. Thirdly, stay away everything that contaminates body and spirit. You are very precious in God's sight. He had paid heavy price to buy you back to himself. Fourthly, spend some time with God and His people. It helps you to renew your whole person. You will be able to run your race with strength and wisdom.

Sending off prayer-

Our Father in heaven, at this moment, we want to ask you to walk with (name of student) again. You have provided this learning opportunity to him/her. You have provided tuition and living expense to him/her. You have given him/her strength and health to walk in this journey. You have shown your grace and mercy in his/her struggles. We know that it is you who have carried us to this far. We simply are very grateful for your love toward him/her and their families.

Now this is his/her last semester. We ask you to help him/her to complete this journey that you have begun, you have blessed, and you have guided. Especially, he/she is struggling with (issues). It makes this last mile of the journey a bit difficulty. We ask your extra mercy upon him/her. May your mighty life power manifest in this weak vessel in such circumstance. May you strengthen and uphold him/her in many ways. You will surround him/her with peace and confidence. You will give him/her helpful professors, mentors, classmates and good friends around him/her to learn and to grow together. You will give him/her knowledge, wisdom, skills, sound mind, courage, perseverance, skills of accountability to accomplish all what he/she should do. May you bless his/her work and prepare ways for him/her to use his/her trained talents and knowledge in coming years.

Lord of our lives and our knowledge, now we together entrust (name of student) unto you, your care and providence as we send him/her off for the new school semester. we ask you renew and bestow all blessings he/she needs and empower him/her to go on in the name of the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit. We ask you that you will send your church to be with him/her, to nurture him/her, to encourage him/her, and to uphold him/her. In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

Benediction

May the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you. May the Lord turn His face toward you and give you peace. May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
